A Supposedly Fun Thing to Eat I'd Never Swallow Again

Thanks to Diedre at Mountain Pulse for finding this 100-best meme courtesy of Very Good Taste. Below are 100 food items for omnivores. I've bolded 86 of them, indicating the ones I've tried. Unlike Diedre, I didn't include photos or extended comments cuz I'm too busy/lazy. But number of stars indicates favorites, a yuck indicator says I've tried it but hated it, and things like horse and sweetbreads are off the potential list. Have fun!

1) Copy this list into your blog or journal, including these instructions.
2) Bold all the items you’ve eaten.
3) Cross out any items that you would never consider eating.
4) Optional extra: Post a comment here at www.verygoodtaste.co.uk linking to your results.

We must be gettin' old. My name's not Deidre and my eyes can't tell the difference between the bold print and the regular.
~sigh~

But, you are a brave one!
And that pumpkin is the BEST! I would do up a barfing pumpkin, but we live in a secluded place and we would probably be the only people to see it.

My bad, I got that from Fluxgraphia! And bold-on-black doesn't show, neither do three stars for soft shell crab. As for Rocky Mountain Oysters, for years I thought they were identical to sweetbreads. I might have tried the latter if I knew they were thymus glands. Sheesh.

Well, I'm glad we got the name thing cleared up, I thought maybe I was the one loosing it.

Anyways, I'm going to have to skip this one. I went through the list and I've only ever tried 10 things on it! I've never even had a Big Mac or a PB&J sandwich, how anal is that?! :)

You live on this planet and you've never had Ronald or PBJ? Were your parents abusive? Gasp!

No my parent's were fine they just had fussy children. Still, compared to my sister I was easy. She literally (still) only eats cereal, fruit, and potatoes. I think your list would probably send her screaming so I guess we'll leave the Aloo gobi to you. :)

At age 19, I called my parents abusive because they never exposed me to a whole alphabet of veggies, beginning with artichokes and avocados and ending with African yams (we grew Zucchini, at least). Their excuse: "Hey, we're from the Midwest, we only eat meat and potatoes." Another reason to leave home.

Ohh, I have a bad Scotch Bonnet pepper story . . .

Well......?? With habaneros and scotch bonnets, you can't just tease us!

I love seeing what other people have tried.

Sharon - no PB&J? EVER? wowza!
